Founder's Story
My name is Darryl A. Johnson, Founder & CEO @ Thriving Women Network, Inc. In November 2019, we had a vision to enlighten, encourage and empower women to thrive, not just survive to be their best version. You may be thinking, what inspired me to start a company that empowers women instead of focusing on men? My inspiration to start a media network empowering women, evolved from my full-time career as a Financial & Business Coach. For 35 years, I have coached women on financial strategies to ensure their income, save for emergencies, invest money, and start a business. Thriving Women Network started as a Zoom Conference Meeting coaching my clients how to write a business plan and the tax-benefits of starting a home-based business. In 2019, a female guest introduced me to a woman that encouraged me to pivot from using Zoom Conference Meetings to streaming a Financial Radio Show on SIBN Network. In 2022, a female guest suggested that we pivot from a Radio Show to a TV Show. She introduced me to Aaron Heimes, co-founder @ E360TV. Over the past 3 years our vision of creating a Franchise Media Network became a reality but not without its unique challenges. Nevertheless, our intrinsic growth is due to sticking to our core values of diversity, inclusion and creating a franchise media network for the next generation of content creators. Share our journey as we reimagine producing and streaming content that enlightens, encourages and empowers women for growth, impact and success.
Sincerely
We See You
You might wonder why a man would be the founder of Thriving Women Network, Inc. Honestly, I ask myself the same question, but the real answer is TWN found me. When you look at my resume, it does not scream college, tradesman or executive. If you ask my mother, she will tell you that I have always been an entrepreneur. It started at the age of 6 years old when my brother and I collected coke bottles from garbage cans in Chicago and took them to the corner store to get the 5-cent deposit. As I grew up, I went from endeavors like shoveling snow to tile installation. I retired from working for an employer at 25 years old. I continued my entrepreneurial journey as the owner of a salon & day spa, then started a financial coaching business. In the process of seeking financial freedom and independence, I found my passion for mentoring and coaching. The more I studied successful people, the more I realized that successful entrepreneurs find solutions to people’s problems.
My moment of clarity came during the pandemic in 2019, when I had time to reflect on my next business move. I was already providing business coaching for entrepreneurs called the Spartan Leadership Academy. Nevertheless, it was not profitable and was not reaching enough people. So, I decided to change the name to Thriving Women Network to broaden our reach and it worked. We were streaming live on internet radio, and it attracted women that were passionate about empowering people.
The reason I say that Thriving Women Network found me is because I have a vision and mission to enlighten, encourage and empower women for growth and success and I share that mission with everyone I meet, and they become our stakeholders.
-Darryl Johnson, CEO
